RE: What 5th wheel hitch do you have and how do you like it?

I have the 16K Pullrite Superglide hitch on a shortbed quad pickup. Love it because you have a clean bed when it is removed, completely latches around the kingpin and is an automatic slider. I like the auto slide feature since I don't have to get out of the vehicle to release the slide when backing thus eliminating another opportunity for me to screw-up and damage my truck!

RE: Garmin - Is this to be expected?

There are a number of garmin GPS batteries for sale on E-Bay for considerably less. Don't know if they are the right ones needed for c330 but it is worth a look. They are probably gray market batteries, but at least you will probably get another year or so out of the unit.

RE: Pullrite SuperGlide Hitch Tall Pin Posts

I contacted Pullrite about them also. If my memory serves me correctly they were like $75 each. I thought that they were pretty pricey for 1/2 inch height increase!

RE: Any other unhappy Carefree Electric awning owners

I have the Carefree Traveler. I get constant runoof in rain with a simple bungee cord. I hook one end to bottom of awning mount on trailer and other end to upper arm of awning and this creates a slight downward pitch. Water rolls right off. I don't wait for the dump feature to accumulate water. I 've camped through many torrential downpours this past summer and never once had problem. Give this a try. Set it up and get the garden hose to test it out. It would be great to see a pic of the bungee cord installed on the awning.

RE: LEVELING YOUR LEVELS ?

Pretty creative on your daughter's part to figure out an easy solution!! I level my level based on the frame and floor level. But I sometimes wonder how accurate you can make these small levels by using this method since they are only about 3 inches long.

RE: Red Top Mountain State Park North Atlanta

Stayed there a year ago last summer in a 5er-great park which we enjoyed very much. To answer your question, I think that the full hookup pull thru sites would accommodate a rig of your size. The full hookups are up a slight hill and it appears that some of the larger rigs may have dragged the rear bumper(?)on the asphalt when driving up the incline. Just my opinion based on the cuts in the asphalt. If concerned about it, I would call and talk to one of the park rangers there. Suggest you read the following reviewsRed Top Mountain State Park.

RE: Electric Awnings

We have the cheaper Carefree of Colorado electric awning not the Carefree Eclipse one. The cheaper one cannot be adjusted which is a definite disadvantage. Stick with either the Carefree Eclipse or one that is adjustable as The Texan mentioned.

RE: Fuel Issue on Generac ???

You may want to spray some starter fluid directly into the carb and see if it fires up then. If not, then it seems reasonable to assume that it is a timing problem or the spark is weak. I do not know what kind of engine is on the genny, but sometimes the magnets in the flywheel get dirty and corroded and need to be lightly sanded to clean them up. I have seen this happen several times. Good luck!

RE: Spring Mount Issue (Jayco Super Lite)

I'm no expert either, but do have a Jayco which I've adjusted the springs on. It appears that one corner of the jack plate is bent, but where the bolt goes thru the spring, it is relatively straight. If the shoulder of the bolt goes thru the jack plate like it suppose to, I would use it until I could get it repaired later after the season is over. I will probably be flamed for this, but I would probably be inclined to attempt to straighten it myself. Just check where the jack plate is welded to the frame to make sure that the welds have not been broken or cracked. The jack plate is not very thick and it is hard for me to believe that a "professional" would attempt to jack the trailer up using the jack plate.

RE: Re-attaching corner trim on a 99 Jayco

You can probably use the butyl rubber tape which most RV dealers carry. That is what they used to attach a lot of the trim on my Jayco along with a few screws. It is very sticky!!

RE: Lifting Pullrite Superglide out of truck

I use a one ton engine hoist from Harbor Freight. Works good, but on my Dodge I have to have someone slowly lower the tailgate while rolling the hoist slowly backwards. The hoist boom is not quite long enough to hook-up and lift the Superglide hitch out with the tailgate down.

RE: We've Been Robbed!

I may have missed something-but have you positively confirmed that this person actually has your trailer in their possession? I believe that I would have it checked out if possible.

RE: Jake Plates on Jayco 315 FBHS

I raised my old Jayco 5er by jacking up one side adjusting the axle then the other side. As Davelinde found, I had a tough time getting the collar of the bolts seated properly in the jake(Jack?) plate hole. I may have to raise my new Jayco 31.5 FBHS also. It appears to me that it might be easier to overcome the seating problem by raising both sides of the trailer and supporting it on jack stands to raise the 5er. Maybe too much trouble though. By the way, my 31.5 FBHS came with the axle springs in the middle holes of the jack plates. Where is yours located-just curious?
